Editorial policy

We never claim to have tested a product

ReviewQuorum analyzes reviews published by others. Our pages attribute every perception: “reviewers consistently praised…”, “buyer comments frequently mention…”, “according to the manufacturer…”. Phrases such as “we tested” or “in our experience” are not used unless a documented change of policy says otherwise.

Identity before opinion

Before collecting opinions we confirm brand, model, generation, variant, region and, where relevant, firmware. Variants that could change a recommendation are covered separately or with a visible caveat.

Selecting and weighing sources

  • Only complete, traceable, independent reviews count toward the score. Sponsored content, republications and first impressions are shown as context, labeled.
  • Publications owned by the same group count as one independent voice.
  • All qualifying groups weigh the same. See the methodology and the source directory.

Writing

  • Summaries are our own words. We use short quotations only when the original wording is essential, and always link to the original review.
  • “Consensus” and “most reviewers” are backed by a count shown on the page. When evidence is divided, we publish a Split Verdict rather than smoothing it over.
  • Superlatives such as “best” state the compared universe, criterion, region and date.
  • Pages before the quorum say what is known and what is missing, without a score.

Buyer and creator signals

Marketplace ratings are shown with sample size, platform, region and date, and are never averaged with professional scores. Creator content is included only when it is substantive; sponsorships and products provided by brands are disclosed.

Use of AI

Software, including AI, may help us find candidate sources, extract metadata, classify findings by attribute and draft text. It may not invent access to a product, attribute an opinion a source did not express, fill in a missing score, decide on its own that two sources are independent, or publish anything. A human editor approves every verdict.

Commercial independence

Affiliate links, advertising and sponsorships are kept apart from editorial decisions. No retailer, brand or sponsor can buy a score, a ranking position or a Quorum Pick. See the affiliate disclosure.

Responsible collection

We prefer APIs, feeds and public pages, respect robots.txt and terms of use, and never bypass paywalls, logins or technical protections. We store metadata and our own summaries, not copies of articles.
